GIG REVIEW | Trash @ The Rocking Chair 14th Jan

Sheffield’s up and coming indie band Trash played their first gig of the year on the 14th January and what a start to the year it was. With support of The Seamonsters, the four piece took on their hometown, showing us exactly what they’re made of.

The Rocking Chair is a small venue, well known amongst local gig-goers, with a constant, lively atmosphere. The band took it on in full force, entertaining the crowd even through the power cut, which saw the whole room chanting Seven Nation Army.

They performed original songs including ‘Hot Coffee’, ‘Workout’ and ‘Brochures’, sending the crowd into a frenzy of jumping, shouting and several circle pits opened up. Despite the low ceilings, fans ventured onto the shoulders of their friends, hurling themselves around the room.

Sometimes small gigs, with short set lists can be better than huge, staged performances. In this case it was. Truthfully it is one of the best gigs I have attended, dancing around to my favourite songs with my best friends and I can’t wait to do it again.
